The Central Library of Vishnu Institute of Technology (A) celebrated National Librarian's Day 2025 on 12th August 2025, commemorating the 133rd birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India, with the support of the Vishnu Students Success Centre.
Dr. M. Venue, Principal, and Prof. M. Srilakshmi, Vice-Principal, Vishnu Institute of Technology (A), delivered inspiring speeches on this occasion. In his address, Dr. M. Venue highlighted the importance of libraries as invaluable sources of knowledge and emphasized the need for their effective utilization. He also encouraged students to form clubs to make productive use of all library resources. Dr. Y. M. V. Naga Raja Rao, Librarian, Vishnu Institute of Technology (A), addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of Librarian’s Day.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and our Founder Chairman, Padmabhushan Dr. B. V. Raju garu. Extempore and Spell Bee competitions were conducted for the students, and prizes were distributed to the winners.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Y. M. V. Naga Raja Rao, Librarian, Vishnu Institute of Technology (A).
