APPLIED ROBOT CONTROL (ARC) LAB

The Centre of Excellence aims to enhance the employability of engineering students by providing them with practical skills and industry-relevant training. Through a range of student activities, the Centre prepares students for successful careers in industrial automation, fosters research and innovation, promotes collaboration with industry, and contributes to the growth of the automation sector.

Objective

The objective of the Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics, Industrial Robotics, and PLC is to enhance the employability of engineering students in Andhra Pradesh by providing them with comprehensive training in advanced technologies and skills relevant to industrial automation. The program aims to equip students with practical knowledge, hands-on experience, and industry-relevant skills, making them well-prepared for engineering jobs in various industries.

Aim

The aim of the Centre is to bridge the gap between industry requirements and academic curriculum by offering specialized training in mechatronics, industrial robotics and PLC. It strives to develop competent professionals who can contribute to the growing demands of automation in industries. The Centre aims to create a conducive learning environment that fosters research, innovation, collaboration and industry partnerships.

Scope

The scope of the Centre of Excellence is vast and encompasses multiple dimensions. It covers various aspects of mechatronics, industrial robotics and PLC, including robot programming, motion control, industrial automation and PLC programming. The program focuses on practical application, hands-on training and industry exposure to prepare students for successful careers in automation-related fields. The Centre also encourages research projects, networking with industry experts and exploring emerging trends and technologies in industrial automation.

Faculty involved

Two faculty members - Mr. B. Bangarraju (Mech. Engg) and Mr. Gayatri Sarman (ECE) were given four weeks of intensive training (three weeks of online training through webinars and one-week onsite training at Aachen, Germany) by the German experts.
