Title: one-week hands-on workshop on Embedded Systems and IoT (OFFLINE Mode)
23rd to 28th September
Participants gained valuable insights into embedded systems and IoT technologies while enhancing their practical skills through experimentation. The hands-on projects helped students better understand hardware-software integration and IoT applications, providing a solid foundation for future work in these fields. A total of 120 students, divided into 20 groups (6 members per group), actively participated in the workshop. Dr.V.Ravi Kumar, Professor, KL University, Hyderabad, graced the event as Chief Guest.

Title: Advanced Thermal Energy Systems: Production, Storage, and Transfer (OFFLINE Mode)
17TH-21 SEP 2024
titled Advanced Thermal Energy Systems: Production, Storage, and Transfer, aimed to provide participants with cutting-edge knowledge and insights into emerging technologies in thermal energy systems, with a particular focus on innovations that address global challenges such as climate change. The program brought together 54 participants from institutions across India, fostering an environment for intellectual exchange and collaborative learning. It featured a series of expert lectures delivered by distinguished speakers from both academia and industry, with the aim of disseminating the latest developments and research trends in thermal energy systems Prof Shuichi Torri of Kumamoto University of Japan, who was the chief guest, spoke on renewable energy and climate change prevention technology. Mechanical Engineering Department Head Dr Naga Krishna said that 60 faculty from Telugu states as well as various states of our country are participating in this programme and hoped that the faculty participants would take advantage of this opportunity

Title: One-week Faculty Development Program on Navigating the Future with Green Energy Resources, Smart Grid Technologies & Emission-Free Vehicle Infrastructure (HYBRID Mode)
April 22nd to April 27th, 2024
We received a total of 373 registrations from various esteemed institutions across the country, including NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut, and NIT Rourkela. Out of these, 200 participants were shortlisted for the program, with 32 participating in offline sessions. The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony on April 22nd, 2024, conducted offline, graced by Chief Guest Dr. V. Karthikeyan, Department of Electrical Engineering from NIT Calicut. Distinguished session speakers were invited from top institutes and industries both nationally and internationally. The sessions, conducted both offline and online, witnessed enthusiastic participation from attendees representing various institutes across the nation.

The FDP on RELIABILITY STUDIES FOR ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS was organized in collaboration with NIT Delhi at NIT Delhi. A total of 39 participants from (22 from academia, 04 from industry and 13 students (PH and Doctoral studies)) diversified backgrounds participated in the FDP. This FDP focused on ensuring that systems, components, and processes perform their intended function over a specified period. Here are typical learning outcomes and objectives for this course. Energy is the driving power behind all economic activities of a country. Subsequently, the ever-increasing populace and associated energy requirements to meet the increasing living standard has become a matter of great apprehension. In particular, the availability of appropriate and sufficient energy resources and off course the development of environmental friendly utilization technologies and the cost of energy have been extremely important factors demanding the immediate attention. The aim of this particular AICTE/ISTE sponsored Induction/Orientation program conducted on 01-07th February 2022 is to convey the research skills to the faculty mentors and practicing engineers to improve the quality of research in the area of green energy and the technology behind grid integration. This programme finally brought a positive renovation among the faculty members towards research work and enables the participants to develop competence in understanding recent advances in the proposed area. The Department of ECE at VITB conducted a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled VLSI Design Tools, Techniques, and Applications in collaboration with the Electronics & ICT Academy at NIT Warangal. An integrated circuit is broadly defined as a very-large-scale-integration of electronic components to realize a function as part of the system. ICs are at the heart of the rapid developments in mobile telecommunications, multimedia, the internet and numerous other applications. IC design can be divided into the broad categories of digital, analog and mixed signal IC design. In a Mixed Signal IC design, typically Digital and analog functions are put together on the same silicon substrate. Modern ICs are enormously complicated. With the advances in technology, there has been tremendous demand on developing fast and energy efficient ICs suiting the state-of-the-art applications of industry. This faculty development program intends to bring the leading academicians to exchange knowledge on recent innovations and insights in various fields of VLSI design. The complexity and sophistication of modern system/network and the severity of environment scenario conditions under which the system have to operate have made the task of designing extremely difficult. To achieve high quality level, performance-cost ratio, attention must be paid to factors of influence like, Reliability and System. It is challenging problem of optimizing.
