The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Vishnu Institute of Technology (A), Bhimavaram, organized the 3rd Edition of Researcher’s Day 2026 on 3rd January 2026 at the EEE Department. The event was graced by Dr. P. Sankar, National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. The event featured a Project Expo with nine student projects and a Poster Presentation session with seven student posters, showcasing innovative work in renewable energy, power systems, control strategies, and emerging technologies. The event enhanced students' technical, research, and presentation skills through meaningful interactions with evaluators.

Researcher’s Day 2026 successfully promoted a strong research culture, encouraged innovation, and strengthened collaboration among students and faculty members.

ATAL-Funded Six-Day Online FDP on "Emerging Trends and Future Prospects in Advanced Energy Conversion Technologies and Applications"

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Vishnu Institute of Technology (VIT), Bhimavaram, successfully organized a Six-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Emerging Trends and Future Prospects in Advanced Energy Conversion Technologies and Applications" from November 10 to 15, 2025, under the sponsorship of the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session addressed by Dr. M. Venu, Principal, in the presence of Prof. M. Srilakshmi, Vice Principal, along with Deans and Heads of Departments. The FDP was effectively coordinated by Dr. RVD Rama Rao and Dr. I. Kasireddy, with active support from Dr. Reddi Khasim S and Mr. P. Naveen.

Urban IoT Challenge 2025

We're thrilled to share that Team Energy X from VITB (EEE, CSE and AIML) are First Runners of the Urban IoT Challenge 2025, CDAC & MeitY, after being evaluated by Scientists from CDAC. Competing with 159 teams from 15 different states across the country, this achievement stands as a proud milestone for VIT and a testament to the team's hard work, innovation, and determination. The team received an award from CDAC and MeitY Directors in C-DAC Delhi.Prize Money: Rs. 50,000/-

Industrial visit to Panasonic and Ludetong Electronics

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organised an industrial visit on 23rd September 2025. As part of this program, 20 third-year EEE students, accompanied by two faculty members, Mr. P. Naveen and Mr. N. Veeraiah, visited two industries: Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. and Ludetong Electronics India Pvt. Ltd in Siricity.

In the morning session on 23rd September, the students visited Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.Siricity. They were guided by Mr. A.V. Kiran Kumar, Assistant General Manager, Mr. M. Vinod, In-charge of the Production Department, and Mr. N. Madhav, Head of Plant Operations, who explained the production process and testing of modulars, switches and sockets.

In the afternoon session on the same day, the students visited Ludetong Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., Siricity. Mr. Yiga, Plant In-charge, explained the manufacturing process of accessory components of mobile phones and generator barcodes. All the students participated actively in the sessions.

A One-Week FDP on Renewable Energy Solutions for Electric Vehicle Systems

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Vishnu Institute of Technology (VIT), Bhimavaram in association with University College of Engineering, JNTUK, Kakinada successfully organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Sustainable Drives: Renewable Energy Solutions for Electric Vehicle Systems, from 16-06-2025 to 20-06-2025. The FDP focused on the latest advancements in Electric Vehicles, Smart Grids, Power Electronics aiming to equip faculty members and researchers with cutting-edge knowledge and practical insights.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. M. Venu, Principal of VIT, in the presence of Prof. M. Srilakshmi, Vice-Principal, and the CoordinatorDr. R.V.D Ramarao from VITB & the CoordinatorDr. T. Murali Mohan from JNTUK Kakinada, Renowned academicians and industry expert from premier institutions such as IIT Hyderabad, NIT Warangal, NIT Andhra Pradesh, and Pragmatic Solutions delivered expert sessions.

Key speakers included Dr. Pradeep Kumar Yemula (IIT Hyderabad), Dr. Vuddanti Sandeep (NIT AP), Dr. T. Vinay Kumar (NIT Warangal), Dr. Tejavathu Ramesh (NIT AP), Dr. Srinivas Singirikonda (Pragmatic Solutions) along with Prof. G. Suribabu, Dr. V.S.N. Narasimha Raju, and Dr. I. Kasireddy from VITB.

The FDP covered important domains like Electric Vehicle Technologies, Smart Power Systems, AI in Energy Management, and Renewable Integration, and was attended by a large number of faculty and technical professionals from various institutions. The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Dr. M. Venu, who appreciated the efforts of the resource persons and organizing team. The event concluded with certificate distribution and a vote of thanks by Dr. S. Reddi Khasim& Dr. I. Kasireddy, Co-Coordinators of the program.

This FDP is yet another initiative by VIT Bhimavaram toward fostering innovation, academic excellence, and professional growth among faculty members.

2nd International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Energy Systems

The 2nd International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Energy Systems (ICSSES 2025) , organized by Vishnu Institute of Technology, Bhimavaram , successfully concluded on March 15, 2025. The two-day event provided a platform for researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and advancements in smart and sustainable energy systems.

The conference commenced on March 14, 2025, with an inaugural session moderated by Prof. Bhanupriya, EEE. Dr. R.V.D. Rama Rao (Organizing Chair) welcomed the gathering, followed by addresses from Dr. M. Venu (Principal, VITB), Prof. M. Srilakshmi (Vice-Principal, VITB), and Dr. I. Kasireddy (Convener, ICSSES 2025). The Chief Guest Addresses were delivered by Dr. Y. Suresh (NIT Karnataka, Surathkal) and Dr. C. Dhanamjayulu (VIT Vellore). Dr. Raju Aedla, Professor, Dept. of EEE, delivered an appreciation note. The session also featured a Souvenir Release and six technical tracks covering AI & ML in energy systems, IoT in smart grids, and renewable energy technologies.

On March 15, 2025, the Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Vivekananda Mukherjee (IIT-ISM Dhanbad). Dr. M. Venu (Principal, VITB) delivered the closing remarks, followed by the announcement of Best Papers and a feedback session. The event concluded with a Virtual Photo Session and a Vote of Thanks by Dr. S. Reddi Khasim (Convener, ICSSES 2025).

Industrial Visit to Surampalem765KV/400KV GIS Substation

The III EEE 44 students visited the 765KV/400KV Gas-Insulated Grid Substation(GIS) in Surampalem, Kakinada, on 04/01/2025. The visit included interactions with Mr. N. Pavan (DGM), Mr. P. Veerandhar (Chief Engineer), and Mr. M. Krishna (Junior Engineer), Mr. B Manish pandey(Junior Engineer)who explained the substation's operations, including the 400KV AIS, 765KV GIS, interconnected transformers, conductor spacing, and circuit breakers.The visit provided students with hands-on exposure to high-voltage engineering concepts and the advantages of gas-insulated substations.

ISTE Student Chapter Inauguration

The ISTE Student Chapter of Vishnu Institute of Technology was officially inaugurated in a grand ceremony on the institute's campus. The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students, marking a significant milestone in fostering professional development and technical excellence.

The inauguration was graced by Dr. Pratapsinh K. Desai President of ISTE, New Delhi, as the Special Guest in virtual mode. Dr. T.S.S. Balaji, National Executive Member of ISTE, served as the Guest of Honor, while Prof. Ginka Ranga Janardhana, Chairman of the ISTE Andhra Pradesh Section, attended as the Chief Guest.

The event was presided over by Dr. M. Venu, Principal, along with Prof. M. Sri Lakshmi, Vice-Principal, and Dr. R.V.D. Industrial Visit to 220KV Substation

Department of Electrical Engineering has organized an industrial visit 220KV Undi Substation for II B.TECH students. 45 students along with 2 faculty members visited the Place.

Following sections of the Industry have been visited.

1. 220kV Bus
2. 400kV Bus
3. Auxiliary Substation
4. Battery room
5. Control room

The main objective of this visit was to make our students familiar with the operation and functions of various substation equipments. The team of Engineer received us at the entrance and showed their premises by giving a briefintroduction about the substation. We were divided into two groups of students each group was led by TRANSCO officials. We sawdifferent parts of the substation like lightning arrester, Transformer, Isolator, Circuit Breaker etc.

Students had a great interactive session of their doubts with working engineers during the visit. The visit came to end by a interactive session conducted by Transco members Mr.G.Srininvasarao, A.E.andMr.P.Srinivasarao, A.Efor solving the doubts raised by the students.

International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Energy Systems

Day 1:

ICSSES 2024 Inauguration and Keynote Addresses The inaugural day of ICSSES 2024 commenced with a serene Prayer Song performed by students, setting a harmonious tone for the event. Prof. Bhanupriya, the Moderator, welcomed the gathering, and Dr. R V D Rama Rao, the Organizing Chair, initiated the proceedings with a warm welcome.

The Presidential Address by Dr. M Venu, the Principal of VITB, highlighted the significance of the conference. Dr. D Suryanarayana, the Director of VITB, delivered a Felicitation Address, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that made the event possible.

The day's highlight was the insightful Chief Guest Addresses. Dr. Akbar Ahmad, an International Academic Consultant, and Visiting Professor from Britts Imperial College University, Dubai, shared valuable perspectives. Dr. V Karthikeyan, Associate Professor at NIT Calicut, Kerala, India, provided another enriching address.

Dr. Raju Aedla, Dean R&D at SVES, expressed appreciation, and a Souvenir Release by the dignitaries was followed by a captivating Virtual Photo Session. The day concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Dr. S. Pragaspathy, the Convener of ICSSES 2024.

Day 2:

Tracks, Addresses, and Reflections The second day of ICSSES 2024 saw a continuation of the conference's momentum. Dr. R V D Rama Rao, in his second address as Organizing Chair, set the stage for another day of enriching discussions.

Chief Guest Address by Dr. B. Chitti Babu from PV Research Laboratory, IIIT D&M, Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, added depth to the academic discourse. Dr. S. Pragaspathy, the Convener, provided insights into the conference proceedings. Addresses from Dr. M Venu, the Principal, and Dr. D. Suryanarayana, the Director of VITB, enriched the participants with institutional perspectives. The Feedback session allowed participants to share their thoughts, enhancing the collaborative spirit.

A Virtual Photo Session captured the essence of the event, providing visual memories. The conference concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks from Dr. I. Kasireddy, the Convener of ICSSES 2024, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for making the event a success.

Additional Information:

We have received an overwhelming response with 94 full-length technical papers submitted for review. After thorough scrutiny by the review & editorial team, 35 papers have been accepted for oral presentation. Our publishing partner is Institute of Physics Conference Series (IOP): -Earth & Environmental Science (Scopus Indexed). Alongside, we have been displaying the technical posters (Poster Presentation) of some of the submitted papers, as recommended by the reviewing & editorial team.

Consultancy Work On Solar Panel Cleaning Machine Development

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Vishnu Institute of Technology is excited to announce that it will provide Technical Consultancy Support for SPREN ENERGY (P) LTD, Hyderabad, in the development of a Solar Panel Cleaning Machine. The Consultancy Agreement has been signed, and the project, with a sanctioned amount of Rs. 90,000, will be initiated shortly.

Mr. B. N. Ch. V. Chakravarthi, Associate Professor of EEE, will serve as the Principal Investigator. The project is set to be completed in 45 days, contributing to the advancement of renewable energy solutions.

Blue Wingler WON Best Elevator Pitch Award

The Bluewingler, a team from Vishnu institute of Technology WON Best Elevator Pitch and received Rs. 25000/- Prize money in the TiE Grad Business Idea Competition-TiE Hyderabad Chapter Finals held on on 05th April 2023 at The Botanika Club, THE BOTANIKA, Jayabheri Enclave, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana 500032. The competition had 10 teams/startups from various institutions. One team from Vishnu Institute of Technology was shortlisted from Vishnu Institute of Technology accompanied by faculty members Dr. V S N Narasimha Raju (EEE), Mr. B Chakravarthy (EEE), and Mr. Mahaboob Hussain (CSE), Faculty Champion, TiE Hyderabad.

"BLUEWINGLER is a one stop destination for all the requirements in water distribution for commercial, residential and agricultural needs. It mainly controls the water losses and detects the leakages. It also provides the real time data and stores for the future estimation"

This idea was pitched by Mr. S. Sai Kumar and S. Sandeep Kumar along and the Elevator pitch was given by S. Sri Hemambica, EEE.

Outcome of the Event

All students reached Vennar Ceramics Private Limited, Perikigudem Village by 9.30 AM on 26/04/2022 along with faculty coordinators. The students were guided to the basic knowledge of manufacturing units and substations. They also bestowed students with details of quality of Tiles manufacturing, substation and control room of Vennar Ceramics Private Limited, Perikigudem Village All students were divided into small batches of 10. All students reached 220KV Undi Substation by 10.30 AM on 25/02/2020 along with faculty coordinators. The students were guided to the basic knowledge of high voltage transmission substations and its difference from other transmission and distribution substations. They also bestowed students with details of transmission and distribution real time data of TRANSCO. All students were divided into small batches of 25. Training supervisor from 220KV Undi Substation Substation accompanied students group and showed them control room and Switchyard.

In this competition, 16 colleges around 2600 students participated from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to compete for this championship. TiE granted three lakh prize money for the winners and also funds raised from the various investors at the venue. TiE also supporting these teams for establishing their own start-ups in the future. These teams also got a chance to participate in RISE competition which will be held in the USA soon.

Winners received the Championship award and cash prize from Mr. Suresh Reddy, TiE President, Mr. Subbaraju Pericherla, Tie Board member, Shri. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS and Shri J A Chowdary, IT Advisor to the chief minister, AP.

The principal of the college congratulates the Entrepreneurship Development Cell In charge and TiE Faculty Champion Mr. Mahaboob Hussain, the faculty mentors Mr. Chakravarthy and Gayatri Sharman for their contribution.

Industrial Visit of B.Tech II & III EEE Students

II B.Tech EEE Branch

Department of Electrical Engineering has organized an industrial visit at Kamavarapukota 400kV Substation for 2nd year students. 90 students along with 5 faculty members visited the substation on 9/3/2019. The main objective of this visit is to make our students familiar with the operation and functions of various substation equipments. The team of Engineer received us at the entrance and showed their premises by giving a brief introduction about the substation. We were divided into two groups of students each group was led by TRANSCO officials. They saw different parts of the substation like lightning arrester, Transformer, Isolator, Circuit Breaker etc. Students had a great interactive session of their doubts with working engineers during the visit. The visit came to end by an interactive session conducted by Transco members Mr. G.Srininvasarao, A.E. and Mr. P.Srinivasarao, A.E for solving the doubts raised by the students.

III B.Tech EEE Branch

B.Tech Third Year Students of Electrical Engineering went for an Industrial visit to Dr.Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Plant (Apgenco) in Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada on 16th February, 2019. Dr.Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station (Vijayawada Thermal Power Station) complex consists of four stages.TPS Stage-I, II, III & IV has Installed capacity is 1860.0 MW (6x210 MW+ 1 x 600MW). During the visit the students observed various processing units such as Coal Handling Station, Boilers, conservator, Economizer, Dust Collectors and Bag Filters, Air Preheaters, turbine unit, Generator with Exciter and control Board Room.

The power plant is categorized into 4 houses based on its functioning. At first they visited coal storage and coal handling station. In the second stage they visited coal pulverization equipment. The third stage consists of a set of three parts, each containing a low pressure, high pressure turbines coupled with an alternator and each has generating capacity of 210 MW. In the final stage they visited the cooling towers. At Last they visited the Unit control Board Room where the whole process is monitored by control board members and at the time of emergency they will inform the authorities concern.

A total of 45 students visited the above industry, accompanied by the Department faculties- Mr.P.Naveen, Mr.Ch.PhaniKumar and Mr.G.Jayaprasad.

The course structure is framed such that it comprises of LabVIEW Core-1 and LabVIEW Core-2 courses. The entire course is to be conducted for the duration of 3 Years. The LabVIEW courses is planned to start when a student enters in the II Year of his/her B. Tech curriculum.
